Objective:
Each team is given 1,000 KEVA planks and 30 minutes to design and build a tower upon a 6” square base. Final score is determined by the tower’s maximum width x maximum height x how far from center a potato is placed. Highest score in each division (adult and youth) determines the winners.
Prizes:
- First place - $1000 donated on behalf of the winner to the educational or youth program of their choice
- Second place - $500 donated on behalf of the winner to the educational or youth program of their choice
Team sponsors and members will be featured on the Block Fest web site and team signage.
Entry fee per team:
- $500 Junior High and High School Teams
- $500 Professional Organization and University Groups
- $1000 Businesses with less than 50 employees
- $1500 Businesses with 50 employees or more
Registration deadline: January 26, 2007
Building Challenge Location: The Banner Bank Building at 10th and Bannock in Downtown Boise
Parking information will be provided with your registration confirmation.
Building Challenge Dates: Tuesday, February 6, 2007
Building Challenge Times: 4:00-5:30pm. Plan to arrive early to check-in and select your team mascot.
Building Challenge Guidelines:
- All building materials will be provided
- No more than 3 people per team
- Teams are encouraged to create their own identity with a name, t-shirt, hat, etc.
- Sponsors may send more than one team
- Teams may be photographed and/or videotaped throughout the event.
